Hi, I am Marina Berry, John's wife. I am a qualified chef and have been in the catering business over 25 years. Food has always been a passion of mine. From a very young age I can remember being in the kitchen with my mum looking through recipes and helping to make cakes, or whatever it was for dinner that evening. I didn't realise it at the time but I was picking up basic cooking tips. My love of food just grew from there, and whenever I could I would be at home cooking
I worked in a bakery for over 8 years and learned the basics of bread making and cake making. I would also make wedding cakes, learning to ice them with royal icing, before sugar paste became popular. I learned sugarcraft, making flowers out of sugar, and I went on to make wedding and birthday cakes and formed my own business known as 'Cakes of Distinction'. I also made cakes for a local coffee shop.
I am eager for other people to learn how to cook correctly, and in addition to gaining food knowledge I would love more than anything to pass on my passion and enthusiasm to others. I will show you how cooking is actually a very exciting and enjoyable experience and how you could woo your family, friends and guests.
